It is a fantasy novel about undying love, and it won third-place in Smart Writer’s Write It Now (W.I.N.) contest in the YA category, which was judged by Alex Flinn, the author of Beastly and Cloaked.

Josh refuses to leave and so does Ashley, choosing to live their lives, or rather their ghost lives in the amusement park. Josh is in love with Tracy and cannot make her see that, as she’s too busy pushing him away. Can Tracy get Josh & Ashley ready to leave by the time the Light comes again? Will they all stay together in the amusement park forever?A fascinating story about love after death, this story is well thought out and beautifully written. It is much more than just a tale about love, it is also a story about making things right in your life dead or alive. Maybe I am reading too much into it but I really loved the way this book comes across. Shevi has a unique way of getting into your head and making her stories come to life, and I enjoyed it. My thanks to the author for making her book available to me to read and review, it was a pleasure.

This one falls into my 'simply a nice, sweet read' category. There isn't much action or adventurous suspense, but there doesn't have to be to grab a reader's attention.
Tracy is a ghost, stuck at an eternal seventeen in an amusement park with the ghost of a younger boy named Mack. But when another horrid accident causes two more deaths, she and Mack get company from another teenager, Josh, and a little girl, Ashley. Both Josh and Ashley should continue into the light (heaven), but Josh refuses to leave Tracy behind and decides to stay with her as a ghost, although this is the last thing she wants.
The story takes place in the afterlife, but still holds everything vital to a very real teenage romance. Tracy is a self-confident young woman with a heart of gold, and Josh is an adorable young man as gentlemanly as a guy can get. It was no problem to dive into both characters and enjoy every moment with them. Their problems were realistic and fitting for a teenage romance--all the insecurities, hopes and lack of experience that makes these stories really hit home. The author does a fantastic job letting the reader get inside the characters' heads. It was easy to understand and feel for them as they tried to work out their inner struggles.
There's only one background scene - the amusement park. Although this might have become mundane at times, the author was able to always jerk the story back to life. And who doesn't love a good roller coaster ride? A fun setting!
Summed up Don't expect action or adventure but be ready to dive into sweet matters of the heart, and this story will be for you. Perfect for young teens

The book was wonderful. It gives you all the details of deing, falling in love, and that little mishap everyone has with loved ones. If I ever meet the author I am going to get down on my knees and say " I love your books.If you get the chance would you help a author in training". Let it be said if your not interested in romance like me but into that mysterious taste of adventure and danger this will be a big surprise. And I prefer Books like Harry Potter and The Woodlands.
Ride of Your Life is a great read that grabs you right from the opening scene. It's a story of what happens to a group of kids trapped between worlds and having to make choices about whether to let go of their world and step into the light and face the love awaiting them.
This book is well written and imaginative. The author creates a world that belongs to the ghosts of this story, that allows them to enjoy much of what we enjoy in the land of the living but with a powerful twist that makes leaving that world harder and harder to do.
The writing flows nicely and propels the reader along, as we witness the developing romance between Josh and Tracey who it seems were destine to be together in the afterlife although they lived thirty years apart.
The story is interesting and different as the characters must come to terms, not just with their own death, but also the love they feel for each other as well as how jealously and fear play into their decisions about their own futures, as life doesn't end when they die, but there are futher decisions to be made.
I don't want to spoil the ending but let me say that it brought tears to my eyes.
I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in entertaining the possibilities of life after death, fate and unconditional love.
